IR A PÁGINA ANTERIOR PERIWINKLES

PERIWINKLES
Periwinkles are mollusks that live among algas, which are their food. They live adhered to the rocks, in the coastal regions. They are bluish black or dun, with a lighter spiral ribbon and measure about 3 or 6 mm. These mollusks are very resistant and can be out of the water for a long time. In Galicia they are known as `caramuxos´.
HOW ARE THEY COOKED?
Cooking periwinkles is very easy. You just have to boil them with salt, giving them one boiling. Afterwards, you have to take the body out with a pin and eat it.
